TRUNK OR TREAT

The Fellowship Committee is planning a Trunk-or-Treat for:         

                   WHEN: Saturday, October 27th

                   WHERE: Covenant Center Lot 

                   TIME: 4:00-6:00 PM

Please dress as your favorite super hero, favorite princess or prince, or favorite animal or favorite robotic… We can’t wait to see many different and unique costumes. (Please no witches or devils)   We will need volunteers for their trunks (We will love to see how you decorate them up) and candy donations. Watch your bulletin for more information.

 

NEW MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORIES ARE AT EACH DOOR AND IN THE OFFICE (If you have already picked up a directory, there is a change of zip code for Dan & Carol Wolfe. The zip should be 15044.)

 

CHRISTSTOCK:

October 6th from noon to 5 PM.  Our charge will be participating with a sand art booth.  If you have a 12'x12' canopy you would be willing to lend it would be greatly appreciated.  We also need 2-3 volunteers at the booth for 1 hour shifts.  Please let Pastor Deb know if you would like to be a part of reaching out to our community with this uniquely Christian opportunity.

 

YOUTH FUNDRAISER

The youth are selling 25% off shopping passes for Boscov’s. The shopping pass is good on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 8:00 AM- 11:00 PM.  The shopping pass is $5.00 each which includes free refreshments and to register to win prizes.  NEW MISSION EMPHASIS

 Our church family will collect the 3 remaining items for the UMCOR hygience Kits:

          1. Bath-sized soap- Not Ivory or Jergens due to moisture amounts. Do not remove the soap bar from the original packaging. Must be at least 3oz or larger.

          2. Combs- must have at least 6”of teeth. No pocket combs or hair picks.

          3. Toenail or Fingernail Clippers-Do not remove from original packaging.

          These hygience items will join the 5 items we collected last month and be taken to the Eastbrook Mission Barn in New Castle. These will be assembled into kits by volunteers and sent out to persons in need.

          Our COMMUNITY FOOD BANK continues to pick up our contributions of boxed food, peanut butter and canned goods every month. Remember to bring your items in for this great need. FOOD BANK conainers are at each church doorway.                Many thanks from your Mission Team!

                                                                    

OCTOBER SIFT LUNCHEON

The October SIFT Luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 18th at noon in the Covenant Center. The program will be Special Olympics by Nicole Ramer. The menu is Vegetable soup, grilled cheese, relish plate, gingerbread. Reservations are due by Monday, October 15th at noon.

 

FRIDAY NIGHT CIRCLE

The Friday Night Circle will meet Thursday, October 11th at 7:00 PM in the covenant Center. The program will be FIGI-with Lynn Sibley & Sandy McKee. Devotions by Sarah Heckert and Hostesses are Mert Hellein & Patty Bruno.

 

OPPORTUNITIES AT OTHER CHARGE CHURCHES

MANORVILLE UMC

          Everyone is invited to come to Casual Church at Manorville UMC on the second Wednesday of each Month at 6:00 PM. Free food, fun, music and Christian learning and fellowship! UNION AVENUE UMC

United Methodist Women, 1st Monday of the month except for months with a holiday falling on Monday and during the summer. The meetings are held at the Kittanning Cottages Community Room at 4:00 PM. Our next meeting will be October 1, 2018. Please come join us!

 

 

 OKTOBERFEST

Area Community Churches are sponsoring an OKTOBERFEST. It will be held on September 29, 2018 at 11st, Ford City, PA from noon to 4 PM. Opening Ceremony will take place at noon, buffet dinner (German Food Plus), activities for children of all ages, and more. Proceeds will go towards disaster relief. Suggested donation, $5.00 per adult.
