Then afterward I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, you old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female slaves, in those days, I will pour out my spirit. I will show portents in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

On Sunday, November 3rd, we celebrate All Saints Day. You are encouraged to place on the altar your pictures of the saints in your life who have taught you faith in Christ. You may remember those who are with the Lord or honor those who are currently in your life by placing their picture on the tables behind the altar.

Did you know that money given directly from your IRA to a qualified charity like FUMC does not count as federal taxable income? If you are taking distributions from your IRA and then using that income to give to the church, that money is then taxable is especially important in our retirement years to make the most of the finances that God has given us. You may want to take advantage of the IRA Charitable Rollover as authorized by Section 408(d)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code for a once-yearly donation saving you taxable income money. Please contact your financial advisor for more information or you may pick up more information in the church office.

Our annual Turkey Dinner will be Friday, November 8th from 4:30 – 6:00.  Adult meal including pie is $9.00.  Child’s meal ages 4 – 12 is $4.00.  If you can bake pies, please call June Pollard (724-543-4920). Any donations toward buying turkeys can be marked “turkey dinner” and placed in the offering plate.

Half of the profits will be sent to House of the Carpenter.

Our charge church family will join together in an October Missions project: collecting underwear for men, women, boys and girls of the House of the Carpenter, Wheeling, WVA. We have learned that often people living in poverty do not have enough money for underwear (it’s not a must), so we are going to help out. Bring in any sizes, kinds, brands, and colors of underwear…and let’s clothe those who do not have enough cloths. It’s a respectful and loving thing to do! Items will be collected on November 11th. God Bless.

The October Financial report is available in the office for anyone interested.

Thank you to the great response to help clean the Covenant Center.

The youth have set up a coffee house in the Library Room. They have coffee (from a Keurig) and some muffins. This is by donation. All donations go towards the youth group fundraiser. Please help yourself. Thank you

We would like to invite any young people who are interested in art to sign up for one of the art classes that are going to be offered at Ford Memorial Church.  There will be 2 different classes offered.  The first one will be on Saturday, November 16th and will be an autumn scene and done with acrylic paint.  The teacher for that class will be Paul Zahradnik of Ford City.  The second class will be on Saturday, December 7th and will be a Winter scene and will be done with oil paints.  The teacher for the class will be G. Mammano of Cadogan.  The classes will start at 1:00 and run approximately 3 hours.

The cost of the classes will be $30.00 for children, ages 7-16 and $50.00 for over 16.  A portion of this money will be donated to the Church for the use of the building.  We will have to limit the number of students in the class to 10, but if we have more interest, we can see about doing more classes after the first of the year.

Paul and Daniele co-hosted an Art Exhibition this past summer at Ford Memorial Church.  They plan on doing it again next year.  Maybe we can encourage some new artists to display their work.  We all need to have a little bit of art in our lives in some form or another.

We have set a deadline to sign up of one week before the class, so the November class must be signed up and paid for by November 9th and the December class must be signed up and paid for by November 30th.   Sign up by texting 814-598-3691 if you are interested in the November class and by texting 724-954-4533 if you are interested in the December class.  To confirm your reservation, you will have to drop your payment off at the Church office.  The Kittanning First Church office is open 8:00-4:00 PM Monday through Thursday.  If that is not convenient for you, please contact me (Amy Zahradnik) at 814-598-3691 or Pastor Brenda to make arrangements to make payment.

Thank you so much, and we hope that this will be an exciting and ongoing new ministry for our Charge.
