CHRISTMAS DECORATING HELP NEEDED

Everyone is invited to come help decorate the church for Christmas on Tuesday, November 27th beginning about 8:30 AM. We are usually finished around noon.

BAUER’S HOLIDAY GRIEF

Bauer’s Funeral Home will be holding their Holiday Grief: “Embracing the Season”.  Sunday, November 18th at 2:00 PM at Bauer Funeral Home, 515 North McKean St, Kittanning. Remembering loved ones and suggestions to manage grief during the holiday season. Speaker: Kelli Connolly, BS, CGRS-Lutheran SeniorLife VNA, Western PA. There is no charge and anyone is welcome to attend. Call 724-545-9464 to make a reservation.

 

POPCORN SALE

          Order forms for our sale of Double Good Popcorn are here. This year we are using he profits to support Rainbow Road.

          All your favorite flavors are here in snack bags, jars, value bags, and even a two gallon tin. The sale ends on Sunday, November 25th. The popcorn will be here before Christmas so you can shop early.

FALL HARVEST COLLECTION

Please bring your Food Bank items and place on the tables in front of the sanctuary (the tables will be in place on Tuesday) so we can share our fall harvest with others. The food bank especially needs canned goods, tuna and peanut butter. November food bank pick-up date is Tuesday, November 20th.

 

NOVEMBER MISSIONS PROJECT

          Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes will be our missions project in November. On October 28th, these boxes will be ready for you on the altar rail. Be sure to get the boy/girl label, a prayer card, and how to pack the box. No toothpaste or candy will be accepted.

          NOTE: the first many boxes will be 2017 boxes which need a $7 check inside. The latter boxes are 2018 boxes and require a $9 check. Make checks payable to “Samaritan’s Purse” a memo “Operation Christmas Child.”

          All completed boxes will start to be taken to collection site on November 12-17. Last day to bring box in is Sunday, November 18th—NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

 

COMMUNITY ADVENT SUPPERS

The Ford City Ministerium is planning to hold their Community Advent Suppers again this December 3, 10 & 17th at 6:00 PM at the Ford Memorial United Methodist Church in Ford City. There will be a covered dish meal followed by a brief devotional message. All are welcome to attend. Call 724-763-1540.

MANORVILLE UMC

Wednesday, December 12th—Casual Church at Manorville UMC-- 6:00 PM.  Enjoy some hearty homemade soups and holiday desserts. Play some holiday games, then enjoy the beautiful vocals of Bob Croyle and Layla. If you’re not in the Christmas spirit by then, this should do it.

 

FORD MEMORIAL UMC

Thursdays-Soup & Sandwich dinner 4:00-6:00 PM Free-will accept donations.

Food Bank and Care & Share Shop- 2nd & last Thursday 10:00-1:30 PM.

Thursday, November 22nd-Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner from 12:00-1:00 PM. reservations requested but not required, November 7-14th from 12:00-5:00 PM 724-664-7509.

UNION AVENUE UMC

United Methodist Women, 1st Monday of the month except for months with a holiday falling on Monday and during the summer. The meetings are held at the Kittanning Cottages Community Room at 4:00 PM. 

 

 

 

 

8TH ANNUAL SING-ALONG CONCERT

Calvary United Methodist Church presents Handel’s Messiah. Two performances Saturday, December 1 & Sunday, December 9th at 4:00 PM. Tickets available now-CalvaryPgh.com.
