We Gather Together and Praise God

Music to prepare us for worship!

Ringing of the Call to Worship Bell

Call to Worship (Genesis 1, Psalm 8)

God, how majestic is your name in all the earth.

Your glory surrounds and enfolds us.

Your image resides within us and completes us.

You made us but a little lower than the angels.

How majestic is your name in all the earth.

*Opening Hymns: “Morning Has Broken” No. 145

“This Is My Father’s World” No. 144

*Opening Prayer (Genesis 1)

Triune God, your Spirit danced over the waters, your Word was spoken, and the glory of your creation sprang forth: sun and moon, earth and sky, creatures beyond count. We thank and praise you for putting your image within us and for creating us but a little lower than the angels. Abide in us as you abide in the fullness of your holy mystery. Teach us to be caretakers and stewards of your good earth, that we may walk gently upon the meadows, and leave puddles of light wherever we tread. Amen.

We Hear God’s Word

The Sermon

We Respond to God’s Word

Praying Together

Silent Prayer/Altar Time/Pastoral Prayer

Invitation to the Offering

We worship a God who is with us to the end. When God opens God’s hand, we are filled with good things. When God closes God’s hand, our bodies return to the dust, and our breath returns to God, who gave it. In the time that is given us, and with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, let us share the bounty that God has given us in the hope that all may come to know the bounty of our God.

Offering Prayer

Gathering of the Offering

*Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly hosts; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Going Forth to Serve God

*Closing Hymns: “I Love to Tell the Story” No. 156

Rescue the Perishing” No. 591

The Blessing/Sending Forth

Music to send us forth for God’s purpose!

*Congregation stands if able.

Ask an usher for a large print hymnal or bible or personal hearing device.

Our Vision…

OWN A PIECE OF FUMC HISTORY!

Six pews have been removed from the front of our sanctuary. They were replaced with new pew chairs that can be easily moved to accommodate wheelchairs or any handicap needs. The old pews are currently in the Covenant Center. You can buy one for $50.00. Contact the church office if you are interested.

HELP--HELP-- HELP, MORE 3R’S NEEDED

As summer approaches we have more things that need done around the church. The 3R’s meet Tuesday mornings to do these things, however, we are in need of more people to come and help with these little projects. We especially need helpers on Tuesday, June 13th .

VBS SET UP DAY

Come help us get the church set up like an amusement park. We will set up for VBS on Saturday, June 17th beginning at 9:00 AM. Anyone and everyone is invited to help.

ACOUSTIC JAMS

Acoustic Jams will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Covenant Center. For more information, see Tom Scherf.

RECREATION

Mark your calendar, Recreation will be here Saturday, June 17, 2017, 7:00 PM.

JUNE MISSIONS FOCUS

SALVATION ARMY’S BACK 2 SCHOOL SHOES

We are excited for June’s Missions Project!! We will again share our coins and dollars to Salvation Army’s Back 2 School Shoes project! This project was such a tremendous hit with the children of our VBS (as they collected their monies each day in large, clean tennis shoes) that we decided to repeat this project. Along with the children’s VBS contributions, our church family will also share in this as we give our coins and dollars, so that even a greater amount will help children in need of school shoes. Remember: if you write a check for this project, make it payable to FUMC and write on the memo line “Back 2 School Shoes”.

ABOUT FACE CHURCH OUTREACH CONSULTANTS

Don’t forget the pledge you made to help support this ministry! Simply mark your envelope or your check (in the memo line) with “AFCOC”! Your Church thanks you in advance for your help and support!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2017

June 19-23, 9:00-noon—Ages 3 years thru 6th grade

Mark your calendars and get ready to join us for a Thrill Ride with Jesus. The church area will be transformed into a SonWorld Adventure Park and we’ll learn how we can follow, trust and obey Jesus thru lessons from the New Testament. Last year we had nearly 120 children for VBS and expect the same or more this year so we need a lot of help to prepare for this fun-filled week. Please consider how you are able to help and contact Sue Hankey (724-545-1656) or the church office if you have any questions.

●  Crew leaders for all ages (week of VBS).

The children will be taking up a VBS collection next Sunday, June 18th to help cover the cost of materials.

ART SHOW APPLICATIONS

The First Church-Sponsored Covenant Center Art Show (our 24th) will be August 3rd thru August 6th in conjunction with the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival. Application blanks may be picked up in the church office or by calling the church to have one put in the mail to you or you can print one from our website. Application deadline is Thursday, July 20th.
