Call to Worship      Unison Reading

                          Psalm 48:9-14             (O.T. p. 518)

Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.10 Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness. 11 Mount Zion rejoices, the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments. 12 Walk about Zion, go around her, count her towers,
13 consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation. 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

The First Church-sponsored Covenant Center Art Show (our 25th) will be August 2nd thru August 5th in conjunction with the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival. Application blanks may be picked up at the church office or by calling the church 724-548-4312 to have one put in the mail to you or on our website at A new award this year “Best New Artist” in honor of Olive Round. Applications due by July 19th.

Once again, our Art Show will need volunteers to “Show Sit” during the Folk Festival. “What Do I Do If…?” instructions will be right at the art show table. This is a good way to help, to meet and to greet people, and to “SIT DOWN ON THE JOB”! Two people are needed at a time. Sign up yourself and a friend! Contact Melissa Flanders 724-859-2607. Thank you

The Fort Armstrong Folk Festival is THURSDAY, AUGUST 2 THROUGH SUNDAY, AUGUST 5TH. As we have for many years, we will be operating our food booth where we sell fish sloppy joe and kielbasa sandwiches along with sizzle dogs, curly fires, macaroni & cheese and of course pie. Like everything else, this doesn’t just happen…it takes time and work from many people to make it happen and keep it running smoothly. We need help to set up and tear down the booth, to work in the booth taking orders, putting together the sandwiches, emptying trash cans, cleaning tables and frying fish and fries. In addition there are buns to cut and clean up each day of the festival. We have made an effort to simplify working in the booth as much as possible. The items will be in takeout containers, as many items as possible have even dollar amounts, and there are many fewer listings on the order sheet as we have limited it to the individual items we sell. If you have been hesitant to help before, we hope this will encourage you to give a shift a try.  See bulletin insert or…

June Pollard will be scheduling pies (724-543-4920) and Melissa Flanders will be scheduling workers including those needed for the Art Show. (724-859-2607) Scheduling pies and workers is a very difficult job. Please let June and Melissa know how you can help to make their job as easy as possible. Thank you.                                                  Tim Scaife-Activities Committee Chairman

Time to sign-up for summer camp! Summer camp brochures from Jumonville, Wesley Woods and Camp Allegheny are at each door. The church will pay for full tuition the first year of camp and 50% for the years after that.

Remember our nursery (with parent paging system) is available to all children thru 4 years during Sunday School and Worship.

The First United Methodist Church Library is NEVER CLOSED! Please feel free to visit our library anytime you are in our church.
